Last week my friend Kimmy and I visited the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan - I always wanted to see this tribute to the past but never made it there. Thankfully I always get to see the 'tourist stuff' when I have friends coming over who don't live in NYC.
The memorial was beautiful - I guess the rainy weather on that day emphasized the mood - the twin memorial pools honoring the lives of those who were lost were gorgeously illuminated and the view of the Freedom Tower was just breathtaking. A successfully constructed memorial to honor all those who deserve just the best monument!
