Barcelona - the spectacular second Day

Good morning, my dear readers! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Let's kick off this Sunday with another Barcelona post - city trip day two! Today I'll take you to some spots from where you have the best views of Barcelona.
By the way, during our city trip we stayed in the Hotel Lyon, a very comfortable, low priced hotel that is close to many great sights such as La Barceloneta, La Rambla and many more. We had a great room with a nice view of the busy streets, however it was super quiet! So if you're looking for a cheap place to stay, I can totally recommend this tiny but cozy hotel.
After an eventful first day, we decided to take it a little easier the second one thus we chose the Muntanya de Montjuïc for a walk. I was so surprised how well preserved the beautiful nature in this huge park is even though it's so close to the city. From the top of the Parc de Montjuïc you have a stunning view over the entire city, plus, if you walk a little further you can admire Joan Miró's amazing sculptures and paintings at the modern museum Fundació Joan Miró.
Next we checked out the Estadi Olímpic, Barcelona's impressive Olympic stadium that provides you with another amazing view of the metropolis. Once you leave the building and enter the park behind the stadium you can admire the futuristic Torre Calatrava (also called Torre de comunicacions de Montjuïc). I'm a big fan of huge, empty parks, they always remind me of Washington, D.C. somehow, so no big surprise that I fell in love with this park, it's magnificent fountains and the ultra modern design of the communications tower - doesn't the stadium look like a palace from the back?
After we left the Olympic park we relaxed on the stairs of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya - a marvelous museum that, once again, lets you admire the city from above. It is surrounded by gorgeous fountains and sculptures... an architect's paradise, just like the rest of Barcelona.
From there we took a stroll through the city. Back on the ground we admired the Plaça d'Espanya from the top of the ancient Arenas de Barcelona, which were transformed into a lively shopping center.
If you take the metro from the Plaça d'Espanya it's super easy to get to Park Güell, one spot I desired to see in Barcelona! That's what we did and we had a marvelous time in the park - photos coming soon!
