One day in Sineu

Hey guys, it's my second week on Mallorca and so far my summer's going great. Hope so does yours!
Today I'm taking you to a little town on the island called Sineu. This post might not be the most interesting one for those who don't travel to Mallorca but I hope you'll still like it. I put together a short guide of the places my boyfriend and I have been to when we went to Sineu, so let's start!
Kick off your day in Sineu with a tasty breakfast. For those with a sweet tooth the traditional bakery Forn Ca'n Toni offers a great variety of delicious pastries and sweets. Try the typical Majorcan ensaimada with hot chocolate. Then go buy some fresh fruit, cheese and other Majorcan products at Sineu's weekly market that takes place every Wednesday. Chat with the locals, farmers and other visitors. It's one of the most traditional markets on Mallorca and the only one with living animals. Take a stroll through the city centre and find some treasures at Sineu's local shops. Get an original t-shirt at Mosquito & Co. or some unique pieces at Lady Marmalade located in the Calle Mayor.
Later head to Sa Plaça to watch the village life while enjoying some authentic Majorcan ice cream, coffee or snacks like crêpes or baguettes at Sa Gelateria. Don't miss the almond or orange granizado made with natural ingredients, so refreshing!

Have lunch or dinner in one of Sineu's most famous wine cellars, the Celler Can Font. Its history of more than 700 years makes it one of the oldest wine cellars on the island. If you prefer italian food instead head over to Tomassini, where they serve original pizzas and pasta. Thanks to its feel-good atmosphere and its high quality italian food it became one of the most popular pizzerias on the island.

As an art lover you should visit Ricardo Gago's impressive gallery and art shop called Can Gili. If you ask nicely he may let you visit his private art studio where all the magic happens. Let him tell you stories about his colorful paintings and detailed sculptures and buy some art pieces or prints for your loved ones at home. You might also like to visit other galleries in Sineu such as Cati Gelabert Niell or Art Sineu. Then go for a walk, take your time exploring the village's small cobble stone streets and old buildings such as the church Nuestra Señora de los Àngeles.

For lunch we chose to the Majorcan restaurant Sa Pamboleria de Sineu for a tasty 3-course menu. It's located in an old mill that was turned into a restaurant in 2009. A charming place with attention to detail and a great variety of Majorcan dishes. I got some veggie puree and calamary, so delicious. Hope you liked my city guide! xo
