Costa Rica Diary - First Stop Puerto Viejo

Hello there, everyone! I'm back after three weeks of adventures and pura vida, what a trip! Costa Rica has been a dream for sure, so many wow moments, so many unforgettable experiences. My boyfriend and I explored the jungle, played with monkeys, swam in waterfalls and hot rivers and chilled at paradisiacal beaches.
So today you get to see some pics of our first stop. We decided to check out Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica first. Some friends recommended me the place and I surely wasn't disappointed! Puerto Viejo is such a fantastic laid-back spot where you can just chill, sip a coconut by the beach, indulge in authentic Caribbean food or take surf lessons. It's such a charming spot thanks to the tiny stores, colorful restaurants and coconut palm trees. I especially loved Outback Jack's, a unique restaurant with crazy decoration in popping colors. How can one not be happy there with all these summer colors and the sound of waves? We spent an entire day walking by the beach, having fresh coconut water and enjoying some yummy Caribbean food at night after watching the sunset.
We stayed at the Hostel Bikini for two nights, a pretty hip and relaxed spot with lots of young people. We had a private room that looked a little like a jungle cabin with a bunk bed that was big enough for two or more people. We shared our bathroom with the other guests which was totally fine. I left you some pics so you get an idea of what a hostel in Costa Rica may look like.
During our stay in Puerto Viejo we also took a half-day trip to Manzanillo, a paradisiacal beach just half an hour away which you will get to see in my next post, so stay tuned! Hope you like the pics, xoxo
