Greenwich Village, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan! I always love coming here, it's so quiet and family-friendly, and I simply love all the tiny shops and restaurants that make the village so special. Of course we had to take our friend Fabien, who's never been to NYC before, to Carrie Bradshaw's apartment, you know, for the Sex and the City feeling ;-) From there we walked down to the Highline, a New Yorker spot everyone should check out. I always enjoy strolling down the elevated park that provides you with wonderful views of Manhattan's streets. Go green and just relax, that's what I call a perfect day in New York City ;-)

From the Village to the Highline

Highline Shots
Dear New York, I know you must be suffering right now. You've been through a whole lotta snow and ice lately. Too bad, I'm not there to go ice skating in Central Park. However, I'm pretty lucky this year cause in Germany it's incredible 10 degrees Celsius now, woohoo! I'm sorry...
The photos you get to see today were taken in, or better said "on", one of my favorite New Yorker parks - the Highline - in February last year. I was blessed enough with such incredible weather when I went back to my beloved Big Apple a year ago.
I just noticed that I still have so many shots of Manhattan and its surroundings from my last vacation that I decided to post some New York City pics from now on.
Thus I thought a sunny post might be a fab idea considering that it's below God knows how much degrees in NYC right now. You can also see photos of my favorite New Yorker graffiti which can be perfectly admired from the Highline - the V-J Day Graffiti in Meatpacking!
Soak up some sun and enjoy the pics ;-)

How could anyone not love New York?
New York tends to attract people who
want to participate in the life of the city, which I think by and
large are people who are outgoing and interested, networking and
working hard but having fun. Here you're always trying to reach for
something – maybe you don't even know what exactly. - Nate Silver

Just stop for a Minute and smile
Enjoying some relaxing moments with Kim and Yasemin, my soulmates for life, in the Meatpacking District is more than wonderful. After strolling through Greenwich Village we headed to this trendy neighborhood to rest for a little while and breathe in the amazingly fresh air in one of my favorite parks, the Highline, before going for a drink and delicious Crêpes at the renowned fabulous Standard Hotel. By then I knew that my girls would leave me soon, Kim lives in Los Angeles by now, where she's studying for the next three months, and Yasemin went back to our home country Germany about two weeks ago to start school there. Both departures broke my heart so this post is a very special one for me to reminisce about the last marvelous days we spent together in our beloved Big Apple!
