Last day of the Year

Hey guys, either you're already living in 2015 (sending love to my Australian friends) or your party preparations are in full swing now. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to write a new post and look for "review 2014" photos since I have been studying a lot the last couple days.
Looking back at 2014, my year has been pretty amazing and quite turbulent. I traveled as much as always (Mallorca, Barcelona and New York), I studied hard and spent a lot of time with my boyfriend, family and friends as usual. The New York trip or my summer in Spain, as well as my day in Tomorrowland were definitely some highlights this year.
How about resolutions... I had quite a few last year and don't think I really stuck to them so I might just start 2015 without any resolutions and hope that destiny plays in my favor as it always did, haha ;-)

Anyway, I wish you all a marvelous start of 2015! May all your resolutions come true! May you all be blessed with health, love, happiness and success and don't forget... Life should be your favorite adventure ;-)

Christmas Inspiration

Hey my lovely readers and fellow bloggers, how's it going? Are you all having a nice Christmas season?
I'm currently trying to escape all the school stuff in my head by blogging more ;-)
Picking photos and editing them plus writing texts the way I like is simply relaxing and distracting me from what I actually have to do for university, haha. My mom's gonna come over this weekend to pick me up and take me home for a Christmas break, so I'm gonna have some family time far away from university. I still have to study during the holidays though, ugh!
Anyway, today you get to see loads of inspiring Christmas pics I took during the last few years in Germany and NYC. Some stars, some decoration, some candy and holiday glam...
If you live in Germany or only visit you should definitely check out some wonderful Christmas markets, such as the Dortmunder Weihnachtsmarkt, where I took some of these pics. It's one of the biggest markets in Germany during this season and always worth a visit. Have a hot chocolate or "Glühwein", enjoy some traditional German food or buy some thoughtful presents for your loved ones - there's a lot to do on Christmas markets!
If you happen to spend Christmas in New York make sure to swing by the huge tree at the Rockefeller Center, go ice skating in Central Park or Bryant Park, and check out the amazingly decorated shop windows on Fifth Avenue - the city is a true winter wonderland in December!
Hope you like the photos and have a wonderful Christmas season! xoxo

Why settle for a single Home when you can have the entire World?

Hey my lovely readers, today's post will be the last one about New York City... at least until I go back again ;-) With these pictures taken in Brooklyn last year in spring I wanna share some thoughts about traveling with you...
So many times have I asked myself where exactly I live... Is it Germany, where I study and where I come from, is it New York, where I spent more than two incredible years, or is it Mallorca, where I live part-time now, where I have my boyfriend and friends, where I find peace...
I'm actually on Mallorca this week, took a break from university, so you can expect some more photos from my favorite island ;-)
Let me clear my situation: I was born in Germany, I went to school there, I have my family there and now I'm going to university and have my own apartment there. From 2010 until the beginning of 2013 I have lived in New York City. And by now I travel to Mallorca, a wonderful Spanish island, almost every month or every second one to see my boyfriend, part of my family and my friends.
So where exactly do I feel home?
It's strange, I have always felt more home anywhere else than in Germany. Home is indefinable... I feel home when I'm with my parents and sisters - my family. But I also feel home when I'm on Mallorca with my boyfriend, at the beach, in the mountains, I surely do feel home there. When I went back to New York City this September I also felt home there. I visited my former host family who I lived with for two years. I always feel home when I'm with them, in our house in the Bronx, and also in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
Home, home, home - is it really where the heart is? I feel like I have lost my heart in so many places that I can't decide which one I should call home. The quote "Why settle for a single Home when you can have the entire World?" fits me much better!
A lot of people travel nowadays, A LOT! Bloggers cruising around the world, young adventurous students chilling in Thailand, au pairs starting a new life in the States or elsewhere... Traveling became so easy, so accessible to all of us. But traveling itself is not my problem - the problem is: I have LIVED in so many places! Well, so many, three :-D But I settled in three countries - Germany, the USA and Spain - I have friends, family and a life there! So how can I decide where I feel home most?
The reason why I'm writing this post is because after I traveled back and forth between all three countries this summer, I felt kinda lost. I was not only exhausted from traveling but also disoriented. I didn't wanna go back to Germany to study because I spent so much time in New York and on Mallorca that I felt like I don't belong there and it made me depressive somehow.
Maybe I don't wanna have the entire world as a home, it's nice to know where you belong. For example my boyfriend, he loves his island and he wouldn't wanna live anywhere else. On the other hand, isn't it really exciting to live in so many places?
I guess I'm just a young, confused globe trotter girl who's trying to find her place in this world. Every country has its advantages and disadvantages but I'm sure that some day I will find the right place for me... or more than one? And you know what just came to my mind? In my case it's not "Home is where the heart is" but maybe it's more "Home is where your story begins"...

PS: If you wanna let me know what you think about this post, or if you have similar feelings and thoughts about traveling or your home, feel free to leave a comment or your questions and share your thoughts ;-)

Scope

Squishy monster sculptures, fashion pills in oversize, glitter statement paintings, candy guns, glamorous horses and a huge 3D graffiti - welcome to SCOPE!
Today you get to see a colorful mix of my favorite pieces at the largest art fair in the world. I went to see the SCOPE art show in New York City in March 2013. And I was totally amazed by all the contemporary art pieces, how can one be so overly creative? Whether the artists depict urban environment, celebrate the art of graffiti, or send comical yet cynical messages with statement paintings - each and every sculpture or painting is a master piece!
I was so overwhelmed with all the mixed media sculptures, the decadent works - both sweet and scary - that I didn't know where to look!
You can visit the SCOPE art shows in Miami, New York, Basel, London and the Hamptons - they reunite the latest visual trends of  many artists and high-class galleries such as Fabien Castanier Gallery or Evan Lurie Gallery.
Seriously, some day, if I ever get the chance to make a lot of money, I'm gonna buy a gallery! Or I'll just turn my house into a gallery! Wherever I go, I always visit museums and galleries and no matter whether it's classical or contemporary art, it always leaves me speechless!
