Good Morning Upper East Siders

Hey guys, I can only imagine how many of you were craving for a post like this one. Today I'm going to show you the place where Serena fights against all the rumors, where Blair throws her super fancy dinner parties and Chuck and Nate cruise around in their limos. Yep, that's it, the fabulous Upper East Side - welcome to Gossip Girl's world!
This is probably what most of you expect when coming to New York City - ultra glam luxury stores, posh girls à la Sex and the City, and the finest selection of shoes, dresses and food - everything a city girl's heart desires. However, there are only one or two neighborhoods similar to Gossip Girl's world in Manhattan, in fact most parts of the Big Apple are pretty cool and laid-back, with a touch of grunge and understatement - not all rich New Yorkers feel the need to show up in a Bentley.
Madison Avenue though, where I took all these pictures, is THE place to be for people dressed in (real) fur coats, wearing Tory Burch flats or Louboutin heels and carrying the tiniest puppy possible under their arm or in their Birkin bag... a shopping mecca for the "oh so rich and famous". Not so much my world but just like the rest of Manhattan - fabulous!

One incredible Year in Pictures - Part I

December 2010 - Happy New Year!

Hey guys, so we finally arrived at the end of a wonderful year and I can truly say that this was the best year of my life! Moving to New York City was the best decision I ever made and it was definitely worth leaving home. One year Big Apple - a year loaded with happy memories! During the past 12 months I've experienced and seen more incredible things than ever before. Everything I did was only amazing because I experienced it with the two most important, adorable, impressive and marvelous persons in my life - my sister Nina and my best friend Yasemin. Thank you so much for making my life so special and always being there for me! With you by my side, I can do anything!
Never would I have thought that I would be so enchanted by this city - that such a lot of amazing experiences would expect me here. During this year I've met remarkable personalities and famous celebrities, saw beautiful landscapes and fascinating architecture, attended crazy fashion events - still unbelievable - the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last month, went to summer parties in the Hamptons and petted a dolphin. I enjoyed awesome vacations in San Diego and Los Angeles, had a blast partying in Las Vegas, climbed up huge mountains upstate New York, marvelled at the city from the top of the Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Center and went on a wild ride on a speedboat around Manhattan. I met insane people at train stations and even crazier ones in the clubs, I watched my favorite movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" open air with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop, I was run over by a bike on the Brooklyn Bridge, crashed into train doors on the subway and met homeless people who even denied the food I wanted to give them!  :-D
New York, my heart, I love you so much!

Back in the Apple

After two incredibly relaxing weeks in California I'm back in the city and oh, hello...it's not grey anymore! The flowers start blooming and the winter coats are gone, hooray! What a perfect day for a walk in Central Park. After enjoying a sun bath on the great lawns, Yasemin and I headed to the Lower East Side - a grungy, freaky and absolutely cool area... I love New York's diversity!

Love her style

Take a bite, Yasemin
