At a time not too long ago and in a place that's not very far away - in fact, the place is Manhattan - I attended the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show... a dream come true, actually so true that I could barely catch my breath when the show was over! I simply love reminiscing about that very special night, the unforgettable moment I saw Miranda, Adriana, Candice, Alessandra, Lily, Lindsay and many more stunning models hovering above the runway, presenting the most beautiful, sparkling lingerie I've ever seen. My sexiest night ever included the most beautiful girls strutting in the heaviest wings, Adam Levine smooching with his then-girlfriend Anne V, Nicki Minaj singing her heart out to Super Bass, tons of glittery balloons falling from the ceiling, and the fabulous Kanye West and Jay Z blowing my mind!

If you follow the latest fashion trends (which the majority of you does) you have most likely heard of the "SWAG style" - the amazingly cool, laid-back, extraordinary mix ofSexy With A bit of Gangster!
The look is mostly defined by cool hats, bold jewelry, extravagant combinations of clothes, popping colors, eccentric sneakers, extreme low cut denim, statement shirts, unusual make up and of course hot looking chicks and guys. Some fashionable people might see it as an excuse used by thugs
and hipsters to justify their unique style and messed up color matching
they wear. I
personally adore this look,I wish I was a little bit cooler aka
"gangsta", you know - walking in a swaying motion, wearing those crappy
hats sideways, partying hard every single night and wearing my pants half
way down - but I am just an ordinary girl, boohoo! But what does SWAG exactly mean?
Let me quote one of my good friends who defines swag as follows: "I think swag is the expression of the 'inner you' through your external appearance. Some people dress because it looks good on them or it's expensive or because others do it... that's style. Swag (for me at least) is the ability to express who you are through your clothes and your appearance. If you are a lazy person and you go clubbing and people still perceive you as a lazy person because you're wearing a simple black v-neck half destroyed t-shirt but you look better in it than some guy in suit or shirt, then you got swag. For me: swag is not a lifestyle... your lifestyle has swag."
Nowadays you can literally use this
word in any way you want: 'I just fell down, lol, SWAG.' 'I live in swagtown' 'Hey guys, just woke
up, SWAG.' 'That movie was so
SWAG.' 'I just finished brushing my teeth, SWAG.' 'Turn my SWAG on' 'Lol, I got kicked out of class, SWAG.' - what
a 'SWAGNIFICENT' overused word!
You see, SWAG is not only a look, it also defines a lifestyle!
Listening to ultra tight rap, hanging out with the most beautiful and
cool people in town, driving the car of your dreams, bottle poppin and
doing the Dougie at the hottest clubs, getting a tattoo (or 5, or 10) - I guess you can say this lifestyle has swag. So today you get to seeexactly ten things that add a little swagga to my life.

Hip-hop hooray! Shawn "Jay Z" Carter kicked off an jaw-dropping eight-show run to christen Brooklyn's newBarclays Center (home to the Brooklyn Nets) and I was part of it! The Grammy-winning king of hip hop playing his most famous songs in the brand new arena - how could I resist? Let me tell you this... it was cra-z! Not only the fact that thousands of people are coming together to celebrate one person's fame, also the size of the stadium was incredible!
"Hova" has undoubtedly redefined both the
music industry and the American Dream which could both be seen and heard on stage. Jay Z himself told us: "You just gotta find out what you're a genius at. I don't believe that God thought: Oh, you're special. To another one: No, you're not. Everyone is good at something!" Mr. Carter himself perfectly embodies this motto for sure!
There was only one melody (okay, maybe four) that I couldn't identify with any song I heard during the last 21 years of my life... apart from that I sang my heart out to every song Jay Z performed - amongst others "99 Problems", "Clique", "On to the next one" and "Big Pimpin". The concert was overwhelming, mesmerizing and breathtaking at the same time - an unforgettable celebration of life! How often do you have the chance to witness the king of hip hop solidify his reign at Barclays Center?
After spending more than one year and a half in New York City I felt the need to broaden my horizons by getting out of Manhattan and exploring Brooklyn instead... this is pretty much what I have done lately (except for planning my future, blogging here, writing my column for Joy magazine and work). As you can see I've been to all different parts of Brooklyn already - Williamsburg is by far my favorite! Home to innumerable artists, musicians, celebrities (I just met Alexa Chung on the subway the other day) and a bunch of incredibly cool and laid-back fashionistas, Williamsburg offers more than cool graffitis, adorable boutiques and cozy restaurants -diversity at its best!
